Overview & Responsibilities
Public Works Director is Mike Lowery.
Public Works maintains and improves the quality of living for residents by managing the maintenance of streets, parks, drainage, sewer and water services. The Public Works Department operates multiple water wells and our hook-up to Azle’s wastewater treatment facilities as well as the hook-up to the Azle water system (which provides us with an emergency backup service for our water). This essential department provides the following services:
- Overlay, reconstruction and repair of city streets
- Water and sewer systems maintenance
- Water and sewer systems construction and replacement
- Drainage Maintenance, including Storm Water Management for clean runoff to Eagle Mountain Lake
- Manages Capital Improvement Projects
- Street signage
- Right-of-way maintenance
- Mowing of City Property
- Maintenance of City Parks including Pelican Bay Swim Beach, Squiggly Park, Boat Launch & Pier and Basketball Court
