Pelican Bay is a General Law Type A City, with the entire Council elected at-large. Pelican Bay’s City Council is comprised of the Mayor and 5 Aldermen.  Terms are for two years and are non-paid positions.  Municipal Elections for the Mayor, Place 1 and Place 2 are on even numbered years. Place 3, Place 4 and Place 5 are on odd numbered years.

All election notices will be posted on the double glass doors at Pelican Bay City Hall.  This is the official posting location of all election notices.  Notices will also be posted to the City website.

 

MAY 1, 2021 ELECTION

The first day to file an Application for Place on General Election Ballot for Aldermen Places 3, 4, and 5 for the May 1, 2021 General Election will be January 13, 2021 and the last day to file February 12, 2021.

Candidate Qualifications for City Office:

Mayor – Residence–One (1) year in State prior to filing deadline; One (1) year in City prior to filing deadline; Age 18; Must be a registered voter in the territory elected from by the filing deadline

Alderman – Residence–One (1) year in State prior to filing deadline; Six (6) months in City prior to filing deadline; Age 18; Must be a registered voter in the territory elected from by the filing deadline

MUST NOT have been determined mentally incapacitated by a final judgment of a court.

MUST NOT have been finally convicted of a felony (unless pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities).
