PELICAN BAY PD NEWS

PELICAN BAY PD NEWS

During the City Council meeting of Monday, Oct. 13 a special moment occurred as Chief Porter proudly presented two of his officers with a well-deserved commendation. This award was given to them for going "above & beyond" by giving of their personal time & expense by going down to the Gulf to assist in the hurricane Harvey disaster relief. These two officers are Officer Deselles and Officer Nalley. The city should be proud  that we have officers like that on our police force. **** Following an Executive Session, the council also approved two new part-time Reserve Officers.   >  Officer Jared Harwell joins our force. He is presently employed at a nearby City as a Fire Dept. Investigator, thus he is already an active police officer. His skills in that area will be a big asset to our PD.    >   Officer Eric Stewart is joining our force. He is a recent Police Academy graduate. This fine young gentleman is also one of our Nations finest - a former U.S. Army Ranger. He is the recipient of numerous awards & medals, including being a Purple Heart recipient.   **** This city is very fortunate to having been chosen by such fine officers as a place to maintain their police accreditation.[...]

FALL CLEANUP AT THE 'BAY

It's getting cooler, so fall is in the air. It's a good time to clean up some of the clutter around your place that may have gathered over the summer! ****Beginning Saturday, Oct. 14 thru Sunday, Oct. 22 we will once again be placing 2 dumpsters at 1713 Pelican Oval for the exclusive use of Pelican Bay RESIDENTS ONLY. Please use this area responsibly & follow a few simple rules: the dumpsters are for the use of 'Bay residents only, for your own household trash & debris. Please put the materials INTO the dumpsters, NOT on the ground. There are exceptions, of course, if you are unable to lift the materials up over the sides of the dumpsters. In this case, please seek out assistance (check with guys at the Utility Compound, or check at City Hall for assistance.) Also, be aware that the dumpsters may be filled up by other citizens before you arrive.  If they are full, please come back later - they are compacted and/or replaced regularly during the week. Please note that NO COMMERCIAL OR MAJOR DEMOLITION MATERIALS ARE ALLOWED.  **** Please do not block the driveway access for city vehicles. Areas will be provided & marked for disposal of liquids, tires, batteries, scrap metals.
