O.K. folks, spring has sprung! Let's get out & clean up, spruce up, throw out that accumulated "stuff" and get your place ready for summertime! **  Beginning on Saturday, April 16 and through Sunday, April 24 there will again be 2 dumpsters available for 'Bay residents to use for disposing of their own household trash & debris. The dumpsters will be placed at the usual area - the south end of 1713 Pelican Oval. **  PLEASE be responsible citizens and follow a few simple guidelines: put the trash in the dumpsters and NOT on the ground. If the dumpsters should fill up they will be promptly compressed or replaced - so come back a little later, please. ONLY dispose of your own household trash, brush, tree limbs, etc.  - NO COMMERCIAL OR DEMOLITION MATERIAL. Areas will be marked on the ground where you may leave items such as tires, liquids (no gasoline), batteries & scrap metals. ****  NOTE: IDs may be requested by volunteer monitors to verify residency as well as the type & source of materials being disposed of. This opportunity is being provided at no cost to residents - please do not abuse it.   [...]

Saturday, June 4, 2016 will be the next low-cost pet vaccination clinic at City Hall, 1300 Pelican Circle. The times for this clinic will be from 10AM to Noon. Please try to get there early to sign up as long lines may develop prior to 10AM.   In addition to rabies shots, other vaccines and services will be available. *****  NOTE: City personnel will be available to process pet registrations. Proof of rabies vaccination is required when registering your pets.   *****  Also, please note that payment for pet vaccinations must be in CASH or CREDIT CARD only! Dogs must be on leash or in a pet carrier, cats must be in a pet carrier.     This clinic is provided by TCAP (Texas Coalition for Animal Protection).  [...]

At our January 11, 2016 City Council Meeting several changes were made to our Police Department staff. First of all, we officially appointed Robert Porter as Chief of Police. We also welcomed back our former chief, Jason Farris, as a part-time Officer. In addition, we appointed two additional Reserve Officers - Robert Cross and Aaron Hedgcoth. Officer Cross has been with us for a few weeks but we just got him officially sworn in.  He was formerly from Nacogdoches, TX. Officer Hedgcoth is a recent Police Academy graduate as well as a former Army MP. We are proud to welcome these changes to our fine Police Staff.[...]

2015 CHRISTMAS PARADE & PARTY

2015 CHRISTMAS PARADE & PARTY

Saturday, December 19th. PARADE starts at approximately 4PM. ** It will kick off at the LHH Church at Long Circle. It will wind around numerous streets in the city and will end up at City Hall. **  The PARTY will be held at City Hall beginning at 5PM. Santa will be there for the kids. There will be candy, cookies, hot chocolate, a bonfire for roasting marshmallows & maybe some TOYS! There will be caroling, singalongs and a Christmas message by the folks from Lighthouse Harbor Church. ** We had a huge parade last year and will be striving to outdo it this year. There will be floats (including one with Santa). Look for a BIG Fire Truck contingent. Participants will consist of our PD, Briar-Reno FD, LHH Church, Neighborhood Committee, City employees & officials, as well as many dedicated city residents. When you hear the parade rumbling through your area, get out there with your whole gang and cheer them along!  [...]

This Christmas season we are once again offering the Toys For Tots program for the children of Pelican Bay. Signups are being accepted now through Saturday, November 28.  Signup forms may be picked up at City Hall Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Saturday, November 28 from 9 AM to Noon. Age & proof of residency requirement information is identified on the signup forms. [...]
